Second Impressions

“Hey, there,” Rio calls down the hall; the screams had stopped a minute ago to be replaced with a quiet whimpering, “we, um – we come in peace?”

“Really,” Sam mutters, shaking her head at Rio and leaning to peek around the corner again and calling toward the boy; “where are the adults?”

“Maybe you should apologize,” Rio suggests, giving Sam a nudge toward the corner, “you know, for shooting at him.”

Sam takes a heavy, deep breath, releases it as a sigh and calls out; “hey, kid – uh – sorry I shot at you and tried to kill you.”

“Really,” Rio mutters in turn, giving Sam another nudge, “want to try again, maybe mean it, put some zest into it.”

“You know what, he shot first, maybe he should apologize,” Sam turns, raising her gun and stepping out into the middle of the hall, “this could be a trap, there’s no way some kid is down here by themself.”

    1. Idk… if someone shot at me I might be thinking their brains look pretty delicious.

Just gunna have to wait and see 😁

  1. You’re keeping up the suspense and it’s hard to wait for the next episode.
