This post is a participation in The Weekly Six Sentence Story Challenge hosted by Denise over at GirlieOnTheEdge
This week’s word is:
Date
- The day of the month or year as specified by a number
- A social or romantic engagement
Worst Date Ever
“I am one hundred percent certain that this place is empty,” the male voice announces as they round the corner, coming into the boy’s line of sight, “or else I’m sure someone would have – OW!”
The man slaps at the side of his face as something stings him just to the right of his eye, but all his fingers find is a small welt as what had bounced off his face hits the ground with the quiet tink tink of metal on stone.
The woman quickly ducks behind the corner, drawing her pistol from her shoulder holster while the man crouches, picks up the small metal ball and looks at it, perplexed.
“It’s just a BB,” he says, holding it up to show the woman just as another whizzes past his ear and bounces off the wall behind him.
The woman grabs him by the collar of his shirt and yanks him around the corner, out of the line of fire.
“First we lose the group, get chased by scavengers, hunted by brain suckers, stumble across an ‘abandoned’ Habitech facility, and now we’re being shot at by a mysterious being in the shadows,” the woman whisper yells, “worst date ever, Rio.”
It does sound like their time together went from bad to worse.
Sounds like she’s got Rio’s back, in any case…🧟♀️🤗
Sounds like it might be friendly fire. The boy may need them.
Oh, I don’t know, it could have been worse 🤣 (at least it wasn’t boring!”)
